teen suicide

https://www.healthcorps.org

I’m still sad about the 16-year-old girl who killed herselfIn my neighborhood.

Just because you’re a teenager has a boyfriend.Just because he seems like he’s he or she is doing okay.Do not think he or she is doing okay. It’s a difficult burden for parents. But you need to always think about if your child is getting really depressed. And you need to do something about it.

vietnam war

Talking to a stranger at the store, wearing a “Vietnam Veteran” hat.
“Hello, you were in Vietnam?” I asked.
“yes, 1968-70. They didn’t want to win the war. So I got out.
“THey had the draft then? Did you get drafted to . . .” I asked.
“No, I joined the Army, yes.”
“Really, they didn’t want to win the war, just drag it on?” I asked.
“Yes, just buy more equipment, for the government, and that, it gets the politicians get re-elected. They didn’t want the war to end.” he says.

warehouses in California

Nice to see the state district attorney writing memos to the city of Moreno Valley. The blight of warehouses is overpowering. The electric demand of these warehouses is massive and often is a 24×7 day demand, for Amazon warehouses for sure.

The state government and governor need to get involved pronto!

from da office:

“Moreno Valley is an Inland Empire city that transformed in recent years from a rural community
to a hub for large-scale warehouse and distribution centers constructed to meet the growing
demand for e-commerce. Moreno Valley is also home to residential disadvantaged communities
that are heavily impacted by these warehouse developments and the attendant air emissions from
heavy-duty diesel trucks. Western Moreno Valley has historically been heavily impacted by
industrial development and is home to dozens of large-scale warehouses that have been
constructed adjacent to residential neighborhoods, schools, and parks. California Environmental
Protection Agency’s CalEnviroscreen 4.0 tool shows several census tracts in Moreno Valley fall
in the 99th percentile for ozone pollution, which is contributed to by diesel trucks, making it
among the most polluted areas in the state for ozone.5 Acute exposure to ozone, also known as
smog, is associated with decreases in lung function, worsening of asthma, and increases in
hospital admissions as well as daily deaths.”

disk, ssd technology

i watch some of this. It’s pretty in depth in just related to the technology of the hard drive. This is mostly for enterprise customers and people who are in the storage industry. For the enterprise customers, it would be nice if they talked more about raid arrays or redundant ways of storing the data.

I wanted to let everyone know the video has been posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xF4Pg6oRtU

bat habitat

Today, and many days before, just like before it is a fact that I have seen habitat loss as more houses are built near me. I have seen the effects because i’ve seen less, and less of certain animals. This is in riverside california. The location is an area called orange crest, or wood woodcrest. Look for the streets, van buren and washington and barton street

In the last ten years, there has been several housing projects that have reduced the availability of the open fields.

I did some field work a few years ago in my neighborhood,  and I found that bats at night, will just sit in the fields.  I don’t know everything about their the habitats, but the I can probably guarantee you there’s bats that live there in the grass. They don’t need a building,  or a cave to live in, like most people think.

The way I found them is that I did surveys at night using really strong floodlights, going around the field. And the light will cause the bats to fly off.

it makes me think I should go build a bat box in that field and just put a note on it that it is a bat box and not to disturb it because it’s used for research. Good idea.

yes

Taste the wild
Lick the wind
Like something they never saw before
Their jaws dropping to the floor
Steel made of soul and sin

Rebels born without a care
(And the day he listens)
Only to fly where eagles dare
And the night she whispers

Ride the wind
Never coming back until I touch the midnight sun
(Ride the wind)
(Never coming back again)
Ride the wind
Never coming back until I touch the midnight sun

Painted flesh
Loyalty
Humble pride
Just as far as the eye can see

Stories told
Two old friends
Of battle scars and lonely bars
And nights the rain wouldn’t end

Here’s to withered eyes wearing gypsy smiles
(And the day he listens)
Here’s to lovely ladies and a million miles
And the night she whispers

Poison lyrics. “Ride the wind”
